Pledge to Stand Up for the Other

Background

Racial bigotry, religious persecution, antisemitism, Islamophobia or any other forms of prejudice or hatred cannot be wiped out unless each and every one of us confronts it within our own circles of family, friends and others we interact with. Silence is seen as consent. It takes courage to stand up for the other! By taking this pledge, each one of us can make a profound difference in the world.

"While interacting with members of my own faith, or ethnic, or gender community, or with others, if I hear hateful comments from anyone about members of any other community, I pledge to stand up for the other and speak up to challenge bigotry in any form."
